While the original house enjoyed fabulous views, it had suffered from many odd renovations and was not sufficiently functional for the new owners. In order to maintain the height of the original house, which exceeded the current height limit, it was decided that the best approach was to remodel and add to the existing structure rather than build a new home that would be required to be lower than the original. This approach required saving at least 50% of the existing structure. Despite this limitation, the new design in every way feels like a new home, tailored perfectly to the owners’ requirements, without compromise.
