Humane Society of Silicon Valley
The Humane Society Silicon Valley facility (formerly Santa Clara Humane Society) is a 48,000 SF, Gold LEED facility which offers the public a full range of domestic animal care services under one roof including Adoption, Veterinary, Education, Boarding and Doggie Day care programs as well as a one-acre public Dog Park.
The facility’s ‘L’ shaped site plan creates a community-oriented campus setting by organizing the facility’s many public entrances around a common Entry Plaza which includes an outdoor café and separate small and large dog exercise areas. The unique energy-efficient design includes 80% reduced water usage and a photovoltaic system that supplies approximately 30% of the overall HVAC lighting loads.
