Lodi Police Facility
The new 58,000 SF City of Lodi Police Services Facility was completed in 2004 on a site adjacent to the old Civic Center. The community-oriented design includes a public accessible, multi-purpose training / classroom on the first floor available for off-hour community organizations, a new San Joaquin County courtroom on the second floor with separate exterior public and secure entrances, a 911 / Dispatch facility oriented around a secure courtyard and a drive through vehicular sallyport which serves the new jail as well as the new and existing adjacent courtrooms.
The 20-bed Type I jail features a unique security monitoring design which includes the use of liquid crystal glass walls and doors to allow visual surveillance and privacy control by jailers. The sallyport and a dedicated elevator allow detainees to be moved in a secure fashion directly to either the existing ground level courtroom or the 2nd floor courtroom.
