Pinole City Hall

The new Pinole City Hall is sited adjacent to the city’s Old Town with its eclectic turn-of-the-century architectural styles. Following six months of community-oriented meetings, the resultant design embraces the site’s historical context by borrowing many vernacular building features and symbolically connecting past, present and future.

The main entry rotunda establishes a pedestrian public axis which extends through the building and connects the public counters to the City Hall Garden. Framed by the City Hall and the existing Public Safety Building, the City Hall Garden includes a public art element created by local school children as well as a soothing water feature.
