Sacramento County Animal Care
Completed in September 2009, this 41,000 Sacramento County Animal Care facility exceeded the County’s designated Silver LEED rating by achieving Gold.
The project features a stand-alone spay/neuter clinic, an animal adoption center featuring dog and cat room environments, a ‘secure’ public courtyard around which adoptable and stray cats and dogs are organized, an in-shelter Medical Center, a barn for farm animals and a one-acre public dog park developed in association with the County’s Park and Recreation staff. Public art is integrated throughout the campus setting.
