Vallejo Sanitation/Flood Control
The District’s original program contemplated a design which required demolition of the existing structure and displacement of staff into an interim building for at least one year.
After studying alternatives for additions to the existing structure, a site plan was developed which allowed the new building to be constructed adjacent to the existing structure, thus, eliminating the cost and disruption of a double move. The design features a one story, wood and steel structure which maximizes north light for the Administration, Engineering and Finance Departments. The building’s exterior is composed of glass and metal panels and expresses a simple, efficient, engineering image symbolic of the functions performed within.
